More than $2000 worth of extra equipment has been
added to 300 limited edition Mazda 626 Sedans and Hatchbacks, to commemorate the
marques 40th anniversary in Australia.
Offered in a choice of two
exclusive metallic colours Highlight Silver and Twilight Blue the limited
edition models go on sale on May 5.
Based on the 626s Classic specification, the vehicle adds a set of five
distinctive patterned alloy wheels, an in-dash CD player, remote central locking, rear
mounted spoiler, floor mats and a 40th anniversary commemorative badge.
Both models are offered with a choice of four speed electronic automatic or five speed
manual transmission.
Standard equipment on the Mazda 626 Classic includes power windows and external rear
view mirrors, air conditioning, cruise control, ABS brakes, tilt adjustable steering and
60:40 split fold down rear seating.
The 626 is powered by a 2.0 litre, 4 cylinder DOHC engine which produces 93 kW of power
and 178 Nm of torque and is renowned for its exceptional fuel efficiency which allows it
to be driven long distances such as Sydney to Melbourne on one tank of fuel.
Mazda Australia national sales manager Doug Dickson said the additional equipment items
made the Anniversary 626 excellent buying.
