Hyundai marketing boss departs for new pastures

Hyundai Automotive’s general manager - marketing, Ms Nikki King, has resigned to pursue a career in the advertising industry.

Ms King, 26, is joining DDB Sydney as group business director. Her resignation takes effect on December 23. (DDB was responsible for Hyundai's advertising campaigns for seven years, until last May…)

Hyundai Automotive’s chief executive Mr C. K. Liew said Ms King’s decision was sad at a personal and business level, but he understood her reasons for leaving and wished her well.

"Nikki has worked closely with me for many years, during which time Hyundai has grown from a relatively unknown company to become the leading automotive importer in Australia," Mr Liew said.

"She has carried out her role with consummate dedication, professionalism and enthusiasm - contributing a great deal to Hyundai’s success.

"It is just like Nikki to grab another challenge with both hands; my only regret is that she will no longer be part of the Hyundai family."

Mr Liew said a decision on Ms King’s replacement would be made soon.
