Free $2000 Sportz Pack for Excel

Hyundai is offering buyers of new Excels a Sportz Pack worth up to $2000 retail, for no extra cost from Boxing Day for a limited time, following the end of Excel’s $1000 cash back offer on Christmas Eve.

For the volume selling Excel Twin Cam 3-door hatch, Sportz Pack adds alloy sports wheels, boot lid wing with integral brake light, CD player and bodyside decals.

On Excel GLX 4-door sedan and 5-door hatch models, Sportz Pack content is the same except that instead of the wing, remote entry with electronic engine immobilizer / alarm is added to their standard central door locking.

The offer is part of Hyundai’s new ‘Summer 2000 Sale’ which also offers a similar free $2000 value pack called Classique on the $22,990 driveaway Sonata GLE.

Benchmark value
Sportz Pack maintains Excel’s benchmark value for money in the ever more crowded light and small car market segments, according to Hyundai Automotive Distributors Australia managing director Doug Croker.

"With Sportz Pack, we’re effectively offering buyers a $2000 discount on Excel, the largest, highest performance, biggest booted and most generously warranted low-cost small car on the market," Mr Croker said.

"Excel Sportz prices start from just $13,990 driveaway for a big 1.5 litre twin cam 16 valve 4-cylinder engined, decent sized car with a proper boot, four speakers and full

size spare wheel—and power steering, the latter a virtual necessity these days yet not standard on Echo hatch nor even offered on the 3-cylinder duo of Sirion or Matiz.

"Assuming real world, that is with air conditioning and power steering in both, Excel 3-door Sportz is on road for at least $3000 less than the bob-tailed Echo 3-door even with Echo’s re-priced air. Similarly with the much smaller and slower manual-only Ka.

"Excel’s core values plus its enduringly good looks obviously mean more to buyers than high priced hype," Mr Croker added.

Fifth triple title
Last month, Excel’s 2335 retail deliveries doubled Echo’s big launch month sales and far outsold all other price competitors.

Year to date, Excel is over 10,000 ahead of next best in class and is on track for its fifth consecutive year as triple titleholder of Australia’s most popular small or light car, the most privately purchased car and the top selling imported car.
