On-sale date announced for HR-V five-door
Hondas roomy new HR-V five-door unveiled today at the Brisbane
International Motor Show will go on sale in Australia on March 1.
Equipped
with a sporty 1.6-litre four-cylinder SOHC LEV engine and Hondas Real Time
four-wheel-drive system, the HR-V five-door gains 100mm in wheelbase to boost interior
space. Passenger comfort has been maximised with improved legroom.
The HR-V five-door is available in one equipment level with dual SRS airbags, power
windows and mirrors and remote central locking. Its exterior refinements include a
new-shape rear spoiler with high-mounted rear stop light.
Launched last year, the HR-V was the first petrol-powered recreational vehicle to
achieve the Low Emission Vehicle (LEV) exhaust emission standard.
The HR-V has a world-class frontal crash structure and incorporates Hondas
innovative pedestrian safety technologies to minimise injuries to pedestrians in an
accident.
The longer, revised HR-V joins the innovative HR-V three-door and the CR-V, boosting
Hondas growing four-wheel drive line-up.
According to Honda Australias general manager of sales and marketing, Tony
Devers, the new HR-V five-door combines the best assets of the acclaimed three-door with
more versatility.
"The HR-V five-door fills an important segment gap and offers customers a modern
urban lifestyle machine," he said.
