Honda Australia has launched a special edition
Honda CR-V with ABS, sunroof, alloy wheels, roof rails and other added features to
celebrate Hondas golden anniversary.
The
CR-V 50th Anniversary will be available for three months, selling alongside the
standard CR-V in Hondas 85 dealerships across Australia.
The hot-selling CR-V is already the No. 1 light 4x4 in the country, averaging 650 units
a month. It is credited with reshaping the four-wheel-drive wagon market, not only in
Australia but around the world.
Honda expects the CR-V 50th Anniversary to add incremental sales of at least
100 units a month, while satisfying pent up demand for ABS and sunroof among would-be CR-V
owners.
The new model will retail for $33,950 for the manual transmission variant and $35,950
for the four-speed automatic. The standard model remains at $29,950 for the manual and
$31,950 for the automatic.
Air-conditioning, remote central locking, power windows and electric mirrors are
standard on all models.
All CR-V models share the same compact 2.0-litre, four-cylinder engine and choice of
manual and automatic transmissions, plus the unique dual-pump four-wheel-drive system
which operates automatically when required.
Honda General Manager Sales Tony Devers said the CR-V 50th Anniversary would
enhance the versatile 4x4s image as the class leader.
"While we have been selling every CR-V we can land in the country since its launch
last year, there have been a certain percentage of buyers who would prefer to add features
such as ABS and sunroof," he said.
"We can now cater to that audience with a top-value package."
The CR-V 50th Anniversary goes on sale on September 1 and continues until
the end of November.
The additional features of the CR-V 50th Anniversary are:
- ABS.
- Alloy wheels.
- Sunroof.
- Roof rails.
- Driver seat height adjuster.
- Spare wheel cover.
- Body colour door handles.
- Storage tray under passenger seat.
- Seat back pockets.
