Best November result in 20 years

Holden has continued its year-long new car sales momentum, with best-ever November and year-to-date results since its benchmark year of 1979, and has stretched its lead for the year over arch rival Ford by 22,401 units - the biggest margin in 18 years.

Highlights for the month include another significant performance by Commodore (8,222 units) to create an all-time fifteen consecutive month lead over Ford Falcon.

Mid size Vectra recorded its best month since launch, while new Astra shot out of the blocks with first full month sales of 450 vehicles.

Isuzu GM continues to impress with best November and year-to-date sales results for Jackaroo, Rodeo and trucks.

"We are most happy with our November numbers," (13,667) said Ross McKenzie, Director of Sales and Marketing.

"It’s another example of Holden demonstrating the best sales continuity in the industry, with monthly figures in excess of 12,000 since February," he said.

"Commodore sales are still extremely strong despite the release of the new Falcon. Our forward order situation sees continued momentum through the New Year and into February/March 1999.

"Meanwhile, we are on track to achieve our total sales target of 150,000 for 1998 - the best result for Holden in twenty years," McKenzie said.
