Sydney Harbour Bridge toll-free for a day - for Holden owners, that is

This Sunday, November 29, between 9:00 and 5:00pm, Holden drivers get to cross the Sydney Harbour Bridge toll-free.

The unique plan to give Holden drivers a toll-free ride is part of Holden's nationwide 50th anniversary celebrations. Sunday the 29th November will be 50 years to the day since the launch of the first Holden.

The designated Holden toll free lanes will be the 'change' lanes at the Rocks (southern) and Milson's Point (northern) toll plazas. The free lanes will be clearly identified with Holden signs and drivers need only to indicate to the toll operator that they are in a Holden to be waved through, free of charge.

Some of the first Holdens to take advantage of the free Bridge ride will form an (invitation only) Holden Heritage Cavalcade of classic models representing every major series produced between 1948 and 1998.

They'll be on their way to the Holden sponsored Free Day at Powerhouse Museum, 500 Harris Street Ultimo, where they will be displayed. Attractions include racing legend Peter Brock, who will be speaking about his race career experiences; two rarely exhibited Holden experimental cars - the futuristic Hurricane (1969) and GTR-X (1970) - which caused a sensation when they were first previewed; screenings of archival Holden film footage; free admission to the entire range of Powerhouse Museum exhibitions; Holden showbags and roving entertainers. 10.00 am to 5.00 pm.
