A distinctive, limited edition Holden Statesman is the final
example of a special commemorative series the company has introduced throughout 1998 to
celebrate 50 years of Holden vehicle manufacture in Australia.
Only 250 examples of the 50th anniversary Statesman, which is
distinguished by unique styling treatments and additional luxury appointments, will be
produced. This prestige long wheelbase model delivers a high-performance blend of
effortless power, courtesy of Holdens 3.8 litre Supercharged V6, and strong sporting
character, accentuated by striking 17-inch sports alloy wheels and tyres.
The unique status of the limited edition Statesman is highlighted by an exclusive paint
finish in Amazon blue mica with subtle tone on tone accents in Diva blue, silver alloy
wheels, black lower mouldings, a body colour grille surround and 50th
anniversary badging.
The Statesmans well-appointed passenger compartment is further complemented by a
combination of slate grey Howe leather seat and door trim with stylish perforated suede
inserts and embroidered seatbacks.
For added comfort and convenience, the 50th anniversary Statesman is
equipped with electrically adjustable front seats, controlling slide fore/aft, front and
rear cushion height and recline functions.
In addition, buyers of this Holden Statesman will be presented with a commemorative 50th
anniversary Orrefors crystal and silver bowl, valued at $1,500.
Holdens Marketing Manager, Large Cars, Geoff Bennett, says that for all its
individual appeal, the commemorative Statesman maintains the models value for money
tradition.
"Statesman continues to be the number one selling Australian car in the prestige
segment because it delivers a world-class standard of luxury and performance at a sensible
price. This limited edition model is no exception," he said.
"While it has superior feature levels and the high-tech performance advantage of a
Supercharged V6, the 50th anniversary Statesman is attractively priced at
$54,560. This is $2,000 over the recommended retail price of a standard Supercharged V6
Statesman, and it represents some $5,400 worth of added value.
"This collectors item Statesman is the final example in a succession of
limited edition models we have released to commemorate our 50th anniversary
year, and we expect it to meet with high demand," Geoff Bennett concluded.
