Matiz the `best value small car to own in Australia
A study by the NRMA, dated December 1999 and still hot off the press, shows that the Matiz offers a sizeable cost advantage over all its nearest competitors. Examples include; Over a three-year period and assuming 15,000 Km/year, the owner of a Matiz will save almost $ 1,500 compared to running a Daihatsu Sirion or about $2,600 compared to the Holden Barina. With a retail price of only $ 12,000 including Daewoos 3 year/100,000 km Free Care, the Matiz is making yet another major contribution towards reducing the cost of motoring for Australian drivers. Equipment and safety features of this new mini-car fear no comparison: dual air-bags, central locking, air conditioning and a CD player all come as standard. Since the Australian public has an eye for styling as well as value, in its first full month of sales the Matiz has outsold rival Sirion 373 units to 260 ! It is not surprising that the success of the Matiz is not limited to this country: in a recent comparison with nine other popular small cars conducted by the BBCs Top Gear, Matiz has resulted a clear winner, being awarded as "The best value small car" currently available in the UK. Competitors included Fords Ka, Toyotas Echo, Hyundais Atoz, Kias Pride and Vokswagens Lupo as well as Fiats Seicento. |
