Hot on the heels of a price cut on the Voyager
people mover, Chrysler Jeep Australia has announced that effective today, the
price of the popular Neon SE sedan has been reduced to $20,990The Neon normally carries
a recommended retail price of $24,880, and the reduced price will be held until the end of
December 1998.
The price reduction further enhances the excellent value for money of the Neon. The
Neon SE comes fully loaded with air-conditioning, central locking,
rack-and-pinion power steering, power mirrors and four-speaker stereo system as standard
equipment.
Adding to the Neons already formidable value story is the fact that Chrysler is
offering automatic transmission for the price of a manual.
The Chrysler Neon is also one of the safest small cars on the road with dual airbags,
height adjustable seatbelts and front seats which are designed to help control passenger
movement in the event of an accident.
Neon is powered by a sophisticated 2.0 litre 16-valve single-overhead-cam engine which
puts out 98 kW and 174 Nm of torque.
Commenting on the price reduction, Chrysler Australia managing director Mr Steve Shugg
said that the campaign was in line with Chryslers policy of offering quality
vehicles at a value price.
"The quality and reliability of Chrysler vehicles has been well documented in this
country for decades," Mr Shugg said.
"And we aim to offer the Australian public high-quality vehicles, well appointed
and at a sensible price. The Neon is offered as an alternative to the Japanese and Korean
cars.
"It is an American car with all the comfort and performance youd expect from
a car from the US, but at the same, or better, price than a similarly equipped car from
Japan or Korea."
