King
Brock to rock around the clock
KING of the Mountain Peter Brock and
a host of Holden's V8 Supercar elite will be the star attractions at
this year's Bathurst 24-hour race in November.
Brock's
round-the-clock challenge to win for a tenth time on Mount Panorama will
be shared with three of Holden's V8 Superstars - Kmart Racing's Greg
Murphy, Holden Racing Team's Todd Kelly and from Brock's own V8 stable,
Jason Bright.
The awesome foursome will campaign Brock's Nation's Cup Holden Monaro in
a race gaining international status since its debut last year.
The 2003 Bathurst 24-hour, on November 22-23, was launched in Sydney
today.
Garth Tander, Nathan Pretty, Steven Richards and Cameron McConville will
defend their 24-hour crown in the second of the Garry Rogers-prepared
Monaros.
And three leading Ford V8 Supercar drivers, not yet named, are likely
entrants for Paul Stokell's Lamborghini assault.
Brock says a return to his field of dreams in the seven-litre Monaro is
"one of life's great opportunities."
"Our driver line-up is a tremendous combination of speed and
experience and a great mix of personalities," the 58-year-old said.
"There are no clashes there and that is what you need when trying
to win a race like this - it's vital everyone works toward the same
goal."
