Whincup on the pace early

Whincup set a blistering pace in today's practice sessions for round
two of the 2002 Formula Ford Championship at Phillip Island.
Whincup clocked an impressive 1min 40.91seconds in the first of today's
three practice sessions, which were significantly delayed due to heavy
fog.
With the sun finally shining through, fellow Van Diemen driver Andrew
Jones was second quickest with the time of 1min 41.05 seconds, closely
followed by Whincup's team mate Marcus Marshall (1min 41.59sec). Mark
Winterbottom, who recently signed with the Stone Brothers Racing team,
was fourth quickest.
Formula Ford qualifying will kick off tomorrow at 10:40am with the
second session at 1:50pm.
