gday everyone..

seeing theres a 'build' area, i thought id throw a few pics up of my GTS rebuild. i'll update it as i go (as im doing on Hotholdens)

its a april 1976, factory 253/trimatic in 568-15949 absinth yellow with the spoiler... and all matching numbers.

the plan is to basically make it 100% origional.. well, not GTfalcon insane (stickers and ties etc) but just nice and origional. so all the paint has gotta go (including the HX GTS stripe), HZ GTS front has got to go, and the stereo (dont worry, ill be mountin' one in the glovebox or something). then its hopefully going to be resprayed the origional absinth yellow, and boot and engine bay resprayed and cleaned up.

anyway, this is what it looked like when i first got it:

cleaned up.. more photos:

Well done, shame about the rust, but at least you are tackling it the right way...

Cheers

yeah.. the rust is a bit dicey, but still repairable. i think fixing that rust up is still worth it as there is no other bad rust... and NONE in the rhs. looks like it was so bad on the lhs, as there is a little peice missing from the cowl panel, and the water constantly drained down the INSIDE of the pillar, not outside like it shoudlve.

anyway, car now:

white as a solid basecoat, gets scuffed back for the yellow. also, new sealant where needed. not too messy and not to neat.. so it looks factory. :)

cheers heaps for the nice comments

little bit done since last time. engine/gearbox and the rest in. only drama was the HD radiator with a full shroud - made it touch the fan. a 6cyl fan spacer from the wreckers quickly sorted that though.

all sorts of other little things done in the meantime... getting the front bumper, bonnet hinges, and scuff plates plated is next on the to-do list.
