Just wanting to know if anyone can tell me how easy to change a hx 308 from auto to manual.Is it feasable or not and if so what are the finer points needed to achieve same....Thanks

Depends on the manual box you want, and whether yours is a TH350 or TH400. Easiest conversion is an M20/21/22 or a 3-speed. You'll need the following:


CRS bellhousing;
Trimatic/4-speed/3-speed crossmember, speedo cable, tailshaft and yoke;
Flywhee

Hi Guys.


Everything Byron has listed is spot on, excepting TH350 were not fitted to HXs.


Just one question though, why would anybody take out a perfectly good TH400 box to fit a manual cogbox ?? Stay with the auto, last longer, less hassles &a

Personal preference is pretty much it. I grew up with a manual in the Torana, and wouldn't swap it, as I thoroughly enjoy driving the manual, and it's part of the original car setup.


Any other old holden projects of mine will probably also be manua

Yeah I know. But I added the TH350 just in case someone had changed it. I suppose I should have added the case that it is a trimatic now also. It's happened to me plenty of times where I go to look at an 'original' car, only to find it's a HJ with HZ ID a
