I have looked at them but they aren't all that comfy. I know these are dearer but this is what i'd prefer, i'd even have a diesel one. Single cab 4x4 would do me fine.

I do really like my father it look like good any types of roads, Ford Super Duty. Although the image i shared is not as polish as my father truck but same color and stuck setup. :)

Why are we calling small commercial vehicles trucks now? Is my WB Ute now a style side truck? I can’t keep up.

We aren't here exactly, but I know what you mean. A Hilux or a Ranger is a ute/pickup or a cab-chassis / tray back, normally maximum of 1000kg payload but most are only 500-750kg. To me it isn't a truck until you step up to a 2500/F250 which can carry at least 1500kg. Some people call anything F100/C10/K10 upwards trucks though. Originally these were 1/2, 3/4 and 1 ton (US ton) vehicles and were called trucks but modern ones can carry more. Funny though that the HJ Holden commercial order procedure I have came in a GMH Truckpower folder with all the other "trucks" GMH had at the time: Chev Luv, CF Bedford, Bedford by Isuzu, E series trucks/buses and C20/C30/C50/C60.

Yeah, the name 'Truck' is a bit different in Aust, to what it is in other countries.

The way I see it is the Holden & Falcon 'Utes' are 'Coupe Utilities' & anything 'small' with a separate tub (e'g' Hilux, Triton etc.) are called 'pick-ups'. Larger ones, say 2.5T upwards are 'trucks'.

Where the lines get blurred, is the AU-FG utes, which are really not proper coupe utilities & the fact that the 'name 'Pick-Up' hasn't really caught on in Australia.

It seems nowadays that the smaller ones are collectively utes & the later, larger Japanese pick-up are trucks. Where is that line in the sand ?

Is the old HQ-WB One-Tonner with an alloy tray, called a pick-up or a truck ? It's not a ute.

Any commercial that had a payload of a ton or less and had a steel or aluminium tray was called a one tonner once upon a time. Now they are all called utes. To me a truck carries more than a ton, has a tray on it and is purely a commercial vehicle. It’s not something you would chuck the wife and kids in to go to town in.
I wouldn’t call anything with a Ute body or a tub/box on the back a truck. It’s a Ute in our lingo. Even if it’s removable.

GMH called the C20-C50 vehicles "trucks" when they bought them back around 1974. The brochures says "Chevy Trucks are back" or something like that, so I think we are safe to call those trucks. GMH called the well back that was optional on most of them a "Fleetside", never a ute. Not sure where this leaves the smaller varieties, like F100, F150, C10, K10, C1500 etc.

I agree with Dr Terry with the Coupe Utility or just Utility for most Holden and Falcon utes, and for the few Commodore utes and that Nissan/Falcon ute. Plus whatever else came like this like a Brumby.

One-Tonner or 1-tonner is good for HQ-WB (in internal documents GMH often call them cab-chassis or chassis/cab too), VY-VZ and some AU onwards, but the problem is not all AU onwards Ford utes are One-tonners! Those that came with well backs on them were normally 3/4 tonne or 1/2 tonne rated or thereabouts. So maybe the true name for those is as Ford originally coined (IIRC), a Style Side.

As for all the single, xtra and dual cabs, I can't think of anything useful but "pickup".
