I was driving home yesterday, I was talking to of all people Ben Stewart about a couple of GTS327's that had just popped up. Parked at an old servo on my left was a GMH Chevrolet Impala. I said to Ben, just spotted a GMH Impala, will ring back soon. I stopped and got permission to have a look. What a beauty. Just about a spot on Survivor as you'll ever find. about 4/68 Pagewood assembly, 5th Impala sedan body built at Woodville, 32nd Pagewood Impala or Parisienne. Perfect Gretel cloth trim. 100% original 1968 327/250hp complete with all AIR equipment, original carby, 327118xx engine number. Still wearing original Packard leads, spark plug shields etc. Even still has the GMH X2 red on the oil filler neck and some left on the oil cap. Still has the original HK style master cylinder and power steering pump and crossover hoses. Has its original radio and fader knob. What a beauty.

This car does answer a few questions I have always had as to why we got unique Quadrajet carbies on all SBC design engines after the initial HK and until the final HQ engines (which both had US numbered carbs).

The guy that owned the servo asked the significance of the car as he didn't get the interest, to him it is just a low spec example of the car and a BBC example is far more desirable. I told him this was the car that qualifies the HK GTS327 as a Muscle Car by US definition, and in fact makes the HK the only Aussie car that truly achieves it. It doesn't mean it is super valuable, just very interesting to Monaro enthusiasts.
