February 14th, 2000 - Rick's NASCAR HappySnaps When the NASCAR circus came across the Nullarbor Plain to race at Western Australia's Barbagallo Raceway, Rick just had to be there with his cameras. We've kept the pics big, so they might take a little while to load...
Are you seated comfortably, and ready for the fun to begin? Now promise you'll be careful, and be nice to all the other boys...
Hey, no crowding! But I was here first! No you weren't, I was! Like hell, I was here long before you! and so on, and so on...
And in the pits, we present the very latest from the Paris spring fashion parades. All the best-dressed gentlemen this year will want to be seen wearing their very own NASCAR, topped off by tres-chic overalls in an absolutely divine shade of grey...
Ouch! Aww gee, they play rough here. Mum, just look what those nasty boys did to my front end!
Turning right! Running clock-wise on Barbagallo Raceway was a problem in itself for cars that are set up for travelling counter-clockwise and always turning left...
I thought this was supposed to be a blacktop race. Nobody told me it was gonna be an autocross event! And who's gonna wash off all the dust, that's what I'd like to know, and when I'd just polished it too...
Some of the Barbagallo Raceway corners were fine, of course. Gene Cook and his Ford Thunderbird, entering the uphill left-hander on line and in full flight.
